So in the last 2 weeks I've delved into the wonderful world of hash extraction and all I can say is wow! Hash kicks ass but after trying butane honey oil and dry ice hash

Sorry about the incomplete post there.....I'll update with full details shortly.

making dry ice hash was as easy as tying your shoes. Potency is top notch and yield was outstanding. I have the keif piles slabbed together between 2 pieces of parchment paper that was pressed manually, so I will weigh it up and see just how much was collected today. Gotta get some stronger coffee in me so I'll be back a bit later to jump back into the thread..

just made some the other day....I love it....Gonna make some more tonight. What Micron Bag did you use?

I used 110 and 160 micron. Both produced great yields. Still gotta weigh it up which wont happen tonight b/c I'm doing a normal run of bubble hash through the 5 bags and see what happens.....it's gonna take a hell of a result to beat the dry ice method so I'll keep my fingers crossed in the mean time.

I was gonna run my dry ice hash yield through the standard bubble bag method to refine it, but I'm pretty happy with the way it is now.

OMFG I just tried the good 'ol bubble bag method and not only am I significantly pissed off about the low yield in each bag compared to the 1 & 1/2 ounce of quality qwabble that went into the recipe.....gotta say I expected more. And let's talk about the mess of bubble hash.......after having experienced the dry ice hash extraction process using the bubble bags that causes virtually no mess and produces a high yield, I'm f'ing done with this bubble bag crap. The mess ain't worth the trouble.....plain and simple. I had huge huge yields with the dry ice via bubble bag extraction and cleanup was less than 10 minutes.....the bubble bag process was a 2 hour ordeal which is still fucking going on as now I have to prepare the crap leftover for cannabuttter to be cooked overnight since I was so dissapointed with the yield and overall pain in the ass of the entire process, I can only hope that the butter yield will take some of the salt of my wounds.....fuck traditional bubble hash.....all I got to say! I'd love to do a side by side comparison with the same buds utilizing the bubble bag method and the other side utilizing dry ice bubble bags....something tells me dry ice will win. No mess and rapid results.......wtf do people even mess with this bubble bag junk for when there are better extraction methods available.? And yes, I understand the bubble bags are still required for a dry ice extraction but you get ZERO mess with dry ice and super easy cleanup not to mention ready to use product - immediately!. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong here in saying that Dry ice hash extraction not only produces better yeilds, but is also super easy to setup / cleanup compared to traditional bubble bag liquid extraction methods.....really bummed about this shit man......ya live and learn though I guess.

Yo beagle, if you used the proper micron bag for the quality of hash you were seeking then there shouldn't be any reason to further refine it.

I was thinking about starting with like a 90 or 110, getting what I can, then switching to a higher micron... but the longer you shake with dry ice, the more veg material gets ground up and falls through the screen. You can start on 1 side of the table and work your way over and notice a difference in color and clumpyness as the plant material turns to almost a powder. So I figure it's better to get what you can with a 220, and refine it later.

It also is going to ultimately depend on what kind of product you are making the hash out of. I had phenomenal results with dry ice hash which was super easy and required minimal cleanup. I even saved the leftover guff material for a canna butter run to squeeze every bit of goodness out of this shit that I could and for the tri-fecta, I also took all the guff from the bubble hash process (which I was disappointed in btw due to low yield and large mess) and threw it all in a big stock pot on low-simmer with 1lb butter for 12 hours or so. I do believe this is the most potent batch of cannabutter I've made yet. I think the next time I dry bubble hash (I ain't no quitter), I will allow the mixture much more settle time than I did (prolly the main problem with previous yield) and fine tune some of the process a bit more. Even thinking of running the mixture in my blender and then batch by batch unload the blended ice and bud into the waiting ice bath for a thorough stirring. Saw the idea and thought the shit was genious....why risk ruining my overpriced bubble bags by damaging the mesh when I can simply mix in a safer container and then poor the ready to use mixture into the bubble bags. If anybody can fathom a reason why that would not work, holla back! BTW, i'll be taking pics of the hash and oil I whipped up and you can judge for yourself if I was successful. Today I will weigh the has but it should be hefty.....oill.......crap, I can't even smoke enough of it b/c the shit's so strong...truly the 1 hit quit :)

Where can I buy just one 110 micron bag, or whichever would be the best "one size for all bag" I don't see a need in buying a set of 5... Definitely going to do the dry ice though after watching so many demonstrations of it on you tube.. It's freakin awesome!

.
you can buy online @ horizon hydroponics (do a google search dude). Like $8 /bag and to be honest, you really only need 2-3. Can't believe people run 5 and 6 bag systems but I guess some people just like to do more work than is necessary to produce the same yield.....ehhhhh... horizon had the bags @ $50 for a 5 bag set which I took,......don't be a jew and just buy the kit ;)

Dude I'm making dry ice hash.. I don't need 5 different grades of shit, one batch of good quality is good enough for me.
