also Leaseweb (the guys hosting AFN) have confirmed that AFN has terminated its subscription.

Pretty amazing how someone with only 2-3 days worth of work managed to take down a site that took 5 years to build-up, as the PM's suggested this all started only a few days before the end of the year. crazy shit!

From What I've heard and read, the guy or anonymous tried to make a deal with AFN to clear-up quite a bit of bullshit on AFN, AFN rejected the offer and banned them/him, later then he hacked AFN and dumped the database and attacked the site.
Also, a DDoS requires quite a bit of infrastructure pre-planning to launch a coordinated attack. AFN is not secure. Chad reported 3 critical vulnerabilities about the site and claimed to have access to the database days prior the site went down. The AFN database has been dumped and i've read through the PM's.

Why is AFN down? I heard from others that they pissed off some skilled guy...
