Hey bud, sorry for the delayed response. I would find the Mars Hydro 300w LED suitable for early veg but it may be strain specific to some degree.
I would watch how close you place the lights to the plants and I personally like to supplement with some sort of white light, cool fluorescents or cfls.
They get a solid stalk and stay short for quite a while (strain and condition dependent) if done properly.
