The BioMarine might be the cause of it. I did a grow in some waterfarms, and although those systems were a little more closed off than a big res, it didn't really smell. I am assuming that BioMarine is made out of rotting fish meat/shit, so that would make sense. The other stuff smelled bad...

Almost got these gnat-bastards out of my life. The SNS-203 did an decent job when I used it both as a spray application, and mixed into my reservoir. I also hung a fly strip underneath the canopy to catch the adults. It never got rid of all of them though, and didn't start making a big impact...

Day 3 of flowering... fuck fungus gnats. Got rid of the gnats, but they showed up again. Had to buy some organic gnat solution. It works slowly and poorly, but they are almost gone.

Thanks! If I had something bad to say about the WaterFarms, its that they works too well! I'm not as experienced as most on this site, but I don't see the rot affecting the harvest. They are very healthy now, and the roots and main stem are strong. I would say it cost me a couple of weeks...
