How low can you go? I put my 1000 watt on yesterday and was wondering how close you can put the lamp to the canopy? at 18 inches you cannot feel any heat coming off the lamp can you go closer without chance of to much light. Heat does not seem to be an issue. I can touch the hood and the glass and there is no heat at all? Fan is doing its job.

Thanks for checking out my thread about indoor start for greenhouse season.
Do you have experience with this method or does it just sound appropriate to use a lightcycle approximating that outdoor day length during "set out" time?
I am still confused as to which method is better as the literature is a bit shoddy in this area. Any any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
