I have kepped the light about 2"-4" away with no problems. The light i have didn't come with a plug, I had to use wirenutts... I take off the clear plastic diffuser, never used it, so it might work. The hood is the best part, it's hard white plastic and reflex a ton of light.

$60 at the depot... wal-mart aint got nuttin... I got a 150 watt HPS at a feed store for $29.95.

all i grow are bag seeds, got some good stuff and just cloned, i keep low and do my shit...

if you can deal with the heat you will be pleased... i just added 150w and had to upgrade the fans, temp was getting too high.

Got a great 100w CFL at the Home Depot outdoor lighting section. Cost $60 bucks. Rated at 10,000 lumens and work great. I am running 4 of them in 15 SqFt., I remove the defuser and just hang it up-side-down. I would love to get some 1000w HID's, But I cant find any, and I will have nothing...

i had to move mine up to 24". i had it at 18" but it burnt my girls.... pissed me off...
