shut of all breakers, remove the black wire, remove the breaker to be replaced slide new breaker in reconnect black wire... do not, do not touch the bars behind the breaker u wont need to rewire, it will handle the load, now dont put a 60 amp breaker in place but just a few amps higher should be fine on the wiring you have so u can get ur dehuey goin without trippin the breaker

what is the age of your house? size is your current breaker needing replaced? i ask because if its is and older home pre 1950's the wiring might not be able to handle the load of a larger breaker. The key thing to understand with loading circuits is that the wiring is the circuit, not the breaker. The breaker is the "overcurrent protection device" which means it trips whenever too much current demand is put on the circuit (WIRE) it is protecting.

hey i didnt wanna start any ish in ur thread... just wanted to let ya know you CAN upgrade just the breaker relatively inexpensivevely maybe even yourself if ur semi mechanically inclined... it would be as simple as unplug the old 15-20 amp breaker and plug and wire (3 wires) a 25-30 amp. all the wiring will hold that extra load, and a breaker is maybe 20-30 buck mang!! good luck
