I guess I can start over. I don't have any more seeds but I can order more... I'll do some research on soilless mixes. I was under the impression soilless mixes are really easy to mess up, and I already mess up with soil, which was supposed to be pretty difficult to mess up.

I think I'll do that, I'm gonna need some serious help building this skill.

I didn't water it today and the plants turned brown and started to shrivel up. I'm growing in Fox Farms Happy Frog soil, I calibrated my PH meter and it's 7.8. Now I'm getting worried they're close to death.

Okay, I'll attach a couple fuses to the system too, sounds like a good idea. Not too worried about the supply cuz I gutted it from a goodwill pc, but a house fire is a good thing to avoid. Glad there's an electrical guru on here to correct my mistake.

Hey guys. When it comes to building a box I have no issue getting everything right by researching but it's all the "figure it out yourself" "listen to the plant" stuff I have some serious issues with. I suck at growing plants, always have, but I want to get better. I have two feminized AK47s...

After finished testing, yes, I do indeed have a DC relay rated for upwards of 40A handling a 15A 110v load, and there's no heat concerns. The AC, the socket, and the relay's power supply have protection circuitry, and it seems to handle it just fine. But yes, not exactly "safe", I know. Dunno...

Maybe next time I grow, if I grow again. But for now I'll use this system.

Update: I bought a cheap manual thermostat to gut. Basic manual honeywell piece, ~$20 at home depot. Also a relay from a car, 5 prong with on and off options (I used a black nissan relay) Only need one piece, the piece with the thermostat, not its control board. Hook power 12v+ to the center...

I've been building a box for the past few weeks and I finally got my seeds in. AK-47, feminized. I planted 2 seeds. They sat in a paper towel for two days and busted open so i Think these little girls are eager to grow. I have them under about 120 watts of cfl for now, I'll add more if needed...

UPDATE: Just picked up some AK47 seeds and I have them sitting in some paper towels germinating. One broke open after just one day so I planted it. Here we go! New mods since last post: closed up the airspace around the air conditioned inlet, tonight I'll see if I can run the temperature...

I have it set to 18/6 and lights on during the day to keep my electric bill unsuspicious. Adding 100, maybe 200 watts to my daily lights won't draw any attention from the landlord, who monitors my electrical usage and lets me know when I'm having a power issue (like when I was running 3 heaters)...

Seems like temperature swings are surpringly more drastic at night. I'll be dropping fan voltage towards the actual evening hours (not light cycle "nighttime") to compensate for the increase in efficiency my AC picks up as night comes. I might drop the thermostat at night too but I'd prefer to...
