Get a heat mat from a garden supply / hydro store. I take a cutting with a clean razor blade, dip in a cloning gel and then into a small cup of plain tap water. mist them a few times over the next day or 2. Should get roots in about 10-14 days. A mother is any plant you hold for cuttings - nothing special. As you trim, it will get bushy. Like any, keep it happy and it'll keep you happy.
