  • Please help me out with a source for jwh-018 or fub. I really would like to order domestic in the state's. I would greatly appreciate it bro.
oh yea, its totaly re-usable, i would just PC/boil/steam it first to reduce contams just to be extra safe. but i dont think contams can even grow on it, but they may harbor spores etc
Hey bud... can you reuse perlite?

Because, I have quite a bit of it in my fruiting chamber... but all my cakes are now all harvesting out.... and was going to put some fresh cakes in there... can I reuse the perlite? Or should I put some new stuff in there?
go for it, I think bulk is the ultimate goal and cakes is just a pre-requesite
I'm thinking the same too! I know patience is a virtue in this art.... I'm just proud that I haven't stumbled upon any mold. Thinking about going bulk as it requires less maintenance as with the cakes...
i never bought artificial lighting, i just stuck my FC next to a window and rotated it daily. I know some people use LED lights attached to the inside of their fruiting chamber, you really dont need alot of light to convince the myc its broken the grounds suface and its time to fruit.

As far as the poor yeilds and uneven pinning, i think thats typically why some people absolutly despise cakes and go bulk as its easier to get an even pinset. Or it could just be the multispore, dont give up! Patients is EVERYTHING in this hobby, as im sure you know.
I totally think its the lighting too... what kind of light do you recommend that I buy... Its just i'm having a horrible yield with the five cakes I got going! No just pinning from the bottoms as I said before... and not the whole cake as I see from other peoples results!

About those JWH vendors... i'll pm over that ;)
best things you can do you are allready doing...pin set depends mostly on genitics and since you are using multispore its a crapshoot. maybe try an even 12/12 light schedule? and totaly even lighting...why dont you go to bulk like you wanted?...it seems to be easy, im sure you could it, i wish i had the chance too....hey u know any good jwh vendors?
I have not sampled my crop yet... only harvested a few 8ths out of my five brf cakes I had going at the time.

How can I get a greater yield out of my cakes... I see pictures on shroomery... and mine just pinned a few spots on the bottom. I want mine to pin like all over the cake!

This is how I am doing things:

Temperature is around 70 in the FC

I mist and fan about 2 times a day

    Humidity is around 96

    It gets indirect sunlight
To be honest with you I never went to bulk, tho i planned to use coir( petco sells it cheap), and I remeber something about pasturizing it too....i got freaked out and threw away all ( about 30) of my cakes before i got the chance, lotsa E and alcohol and no sleep for 3 days will do that I guess. But i alwse suggest just doing a quick search on shroomery for a simple bulk tek.

have you sampled your crop yet?
My cakes are pinning... and I just harvested a few eighths :)

Now I wanna move onto a semi bulk grow... wanna utilize some casings!

What do you recommend I use for the casings... a 50/50 vermiculite/coir mix? How would I go about mixing the two... or how about sterilizing both.... how would I go about that?
what you think is mold probably is bruising from misting. mold is usually a definite green. green/gray sounds like bruising especiially if its occuring on a fully colonized cake id be more than happy to look at a pic .brusing wont hurt the cake but it may be a sighn of over misting. and severly over misting ( like puddles forming on cake) could lead to mold or drown the cake, but i think that takes ALOT to do.

As far as treating mold, im skeptic, i just throw the cakes away. I kinda think its not worth infecting your house with the spores just to save a 25 cent cake.

You have to send me pics when your little guys are all grown up...im stoked/jelous..
Happy to report.... that three heads are popping from the cake and one nice mushroom is enveloping...

Although I expect two cakes to have possible mold... its a light greenish grey... but no worries I have them isolated in there own little fruiting chamber. Twice a day I spray the area with antibacterials.... and douse the counters with alcohol! Could misting the cake with water lead to mold... thats one of my big concerns?

I heard you can add a 1:10 ratio of Hydroxide peroxide to the water... to take care of that problem? What's your standpoint on that? As directed, I'm keeping the humidity levels above the 90% percent range...
