DIY chiller from window A/C how to

First off, go very slowly. Bend carefully. DO NOT CUT OR KINK ANY COPPER LINES. Make long sweeping bends instead of sharp ones. This is a 5k btu window A/C I turned into a chiller for my dwc setup. It cools a 30 gal res and a 20 gal res that each run separate nutrients. Remove the case from...

dwc veg problems, nute burn or deficiency?

The chemdawg had stem rot, I think that is what killed it. It came with a peat plug or rockwool or something on it, and I didn't remove all of it to avoid damage roots. The rest recovered. The querkle stayed a runt yielded like 7g. The gods gift died when put under higher wattage hps. The rest...

    Intake Options

It all depends on how well sealed your garage is to the outside air. It sounds like it is well insulated and sealed, so you will need a way for the outside air to get into the garage, so it can then get into your room. Such as opening the garage window, garage door, install a dryer vent, fake...

Can Anyone Clarify the Legal Growing Limit Mumbo Jumbo?

There are a few other threads about this. Basically it will be a gray area until there is new legislation. Most counties still stick to the 6/12 rule though. Whether it is OR / AND depends on the officer, the department policy, who, where, the local district attorney, etc. Call your county...

Do I need a grow specific co2 regulator? Or is a cheaper aquarium one ok?

Do I need a grow specific co2 regulator? Or is a cheaper aquarium one ok? Something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-AQUATEK-CO2-Regulator-Solenoid-BACK-IN-STOCK_W0QQitemZ330349180710QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item4cea587726&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 of this...

Hermie late in flower, at day 48 some seeds, chop early?

I don't need pollen. I'm just picking the bananas when they show up and letting them go until ready. Only found one big green seed so far, and several bunches of tiny hard brown ones. I had a few problems with temperatures and light leaks so it probably added some stress.

High flow RDWC air/water pump size advice for 6 tree bins?

pondmaster ap-100 air pump. Lots of air and not too loud. It's quieter than those industrial/sunleaves ones all the hydro places sell and puts out 10x the air. I've got it on 12 buckets but it could probably do 20, maybe 30?

Hermie late in flower, at day 48 some seeds, chop early?

I have 2 plants showing same male bananas in the middle of the flowers, with some seeds starting to develop. 3 are not showing them and have no signs of seeds. I haven't found any flowers that opened but apparently some did somewhere. It's day 48 out of supposedly 60 day strains. Should I chop...

Drug Dogs and Hideing Drugs and Such

INDICATORS: One indicator is that a display model battery case filled with drugs is probably lighter than a normal 12 volt battery. Another is to test the battery by placing a metal bar across the positive and negative terminals. That would be the best story about being pulled over ever.

DIY= Do It Yourself Water Chiller that Works!

Vinyl tubing. Not the best for heat transfer, but I don't need that much transfer. There's probably 30ft of tubing inside the cooler for the flower, and 30ft for the veg side. With room temps of 80f the water was at 75f with no chiller, now it is at 66f constantly. This just happened to be the...

One week bubble cloner, no roots. HELP

I had the same temps, etc. as you and it was not working well. I made these changes: -LOTS of bubbles -Make sure all the stems are getting wet from the popping bubbles but not in the water -Water temps around 75f -Keep PH at 5.6-5.8 -Air temps 75-80f -RO water to about 75-100 ppm with veg nutes...

    Vertical Hydro????

The backside wouldn't get much light, which would cut down on the usable plants but might not matter. Maybe surround it with fluoro tubes.

DIY= Do It Yourself Water Chiller that Works!

A mini fridge will work great for a small amount of water. I drilled holes into mine and circulate the nute soulution through a coil of tubing sitting inside a bucket of water. With about a 25 gal reservoir it ran alot, with 40 gals it ran constantly. I was planning to strip it as you did. I...

    9k first grow

I may have missed it somewhere but if it hasn't been suggested yet you may want to look into hanging the lights vertically. You have the space and could do some big trees to cut down on plant numbers.

Cheap and easy to find alternatives to ONA ?

I picked up some ZorbX and it works ok in the bucket. It really has no smell at all. It lessens the bad smells but doesn't completely get rid of it. If you don't want it obvious you are trying to mask a smell it would be ok.
