Have you noticed that the only perlite Home Depot carries is the Miracle Gro brand that has fertilizer added to it? and the vermiculite they carry is a very fine grade (not coarse enough for my liking). At least that's all I can find at all of the home improvement centers around me. I cannot...

I saw a post once where someone mentioned using a 400w MH in their 600w digital. It sounds risky to me though.

MH for the last two weeks probably wouldn't reduce yield. It could increase potency, and it might make the buds a little more dense. I'm thinking of trying it myself. Check out this video, it gives some info on THC and how UV light affects potency: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPcpt3Be28o I...

Stress may have a little to do with it, but I think it's more of a light spectrum issue. MH has more UV spectrum than HPS, and THC production increases with more UV. You can probably get the same effect by adding some fluoro UV reptile lights for the last two weeks.

A 600 watt dual arc will be nice. I'll try it as soon as it comes out. Until then I use conversion bulbs for veg, and I'm thinking of trying a Phillips CMH for veg, although I think those only go to 400w.

No doubt GypsyBush, a 600w will produce alot more and better quality than a 400w. Your experience is a testament to that! A 600w is more efficient, and you get nearly double the intensity for only 50% more watts over the 400w. I only suggested the 400w because of heat concerns and possibly...

I think you're getting the bulbs mixed up. Eye has Super HPS enhanced spectrum bulbs that come in all sizes, but they also have a new bulb called Super Blue, which is a 400w MH and a 600w HPS inside of one bulb. As far as I know it only comes in 1000w. http://www.eyehortilux.com/superblue.html
