Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

I spray in the evening and the morning. No problems. It is not a good idea to spray at night if you have buds, but it is not a good idea to spray in the morning if you have buds either, since the buds act like sponges.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

No need to bring politics into it bro. Since we didn't go all green like you Germans, our electricity is less expensive, so we can use more of it, plus our taxes are lower, so we have more money left over to spend on electricity. Besides, when you live in a nice big house on a large lot like a...

Like me, you are being forced to see how close you can get your lights to the tops of your plants, because you are running out of room to raise the lights. Perhaps if you had kept the light closer to the tops of the plants when they were smaller, they wouldn't have stretched quite so much.

Are you using the 72V or 36V version of the CXB3590? If you are using the 72V version, can you dim your driver down to 700ma? If not, get a big ass fan or a few little fans blowing on the heatsink and you will be fine.

Tear The Roof Off The Sucker I think you will find that you can get the lights much closer to the plants without causing any problems and in fact, helping the plants to bud faster. I have a grow space with a very low overhead space so I have been forced to find that you can get CXB3590 COBs very...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Should be fine form what I see: Input Voltage: 90 VAC to 305 VAC. 240 is between 90 and 305 VAC. I like to run the CBX3590 at 1.05 amps. I run four of them at 1.2 Amps and they are nice and bright. I think you will like your results. Jerry will get you your quote quickly. Chinese New Year might...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Thanks PB! After I posted my question and I thought about it, I came to the same conclusion, i.e. that the 72V COB would be twice as bright as each of the 36V COBs. Well, not twice as bright, due to lower efficiency, but brighter and put out more heat. I may put the 72V in the middle of a bar...

Speaking of reflectors: This was one of my first lights, using a Chinese Purple COB, which I have replaced with Cree CXB3590s and Vero 29s. It is just a cob mounted on a CPU heatsink and fan, but I mounted it up inside a cheap aluminum reflector that I picked up at Walmart of Home Depot...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Is there any reason to not run CXB3590 36V and 72V cobs on the same driver? I don't think it should be a problem, but I haven't tried it myself yet.

That table looks right. I used 90 degree reflectors on a couple of Vero 29 COBs and the light spreads out fast. It is only when you put hour hand a couple inches under the reflector that the light is very tight and concentrated. A foot or so below the reflector the light is well spread out.

I bought 6 CXB3590 3000K 36V COBs at the same time and some holders as long as I was going to be paying shipping costs anyway. I think I got 16 or so, so that I have more than I need now and have a stash for replacements or future projects.
