hanging the lights vertical and using no hood is supposed to allow all the light to go out sideways to the surrounding plants. this is a "first try"
for me. we'll see what happens.
i'm using a digital timer i got at home depot. i forget the brand. it is a heavy duty outdoor timer used for sprinklers. i think it was $25.
