    Replacing my Gavita 750flex

What's up everybody? I'm fairly new to RIU and LEDs but I figure this is a good time to start a thread anyway. I'm building a CXB3590 fixture to replace the gavita pro 750flex DE in my 4x4 tent. The gavita has been a great light but it simply creates too much heat in my setup, even when dimmed...

    Apv 12-12 ???

I used 5 connection wago connectors and wired 4 fans to one. Simply hook all the positives from each fan and the positive from the apv to one connector, and all the negatives to the other. This is running them parallel and splits the current but everything stays at 12v from what I understand. I...

arctic alpine 11 heatsink with CBX3590

Mossy, for what it's worth, I wired up 4 of the alpine 64 plus fans to a mean well apv 12-12 last night. I was worried they would be loud and "wooshy" but to my surprise all 4 of them running at the same time was VERY quiet. My wife was sitting next to me and even commented on how they were...

arctic alpine 11 heatsink with CBX3590

The 64 plus is what I just got. It fits my vero 29 cobs quite nice with the big flat heatsink and I'll be driving mine at 1050 as well.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Thanks PurpleBuz. Most of my parts arrived today and the plan is to use the apv 12-12 and see how it works. Dawg is doing this with a very similar setup. I do appreciate the idea of the lower voltage apv if the 12-12 seems too much, we'll see what happens.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Nice! Really glad I'm reading this forum. Lots of good information here. My light project starts tomorrow.

Dawg, your vero 29 bars look very similar to what I'm currently trying to build. Can you share the details of your power supply for the fans and how they operate with me please?

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

I really appreciate all the input guys. I got the apv because I'm trying to avoid any off brand adapters or cheap stuff that might fail on this light. This is my first light build after watching greengeene's video, and then all of growmau5's videos, and then doing a little research and sourcing...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

120w to power 4 PC fans? Not sure we're all on the same page here. I already have an hlg for the cobs, I just want to lower my fan speed and I already have the apv to power them. Could I just do one of these instead of the apv on a wago connector to split the current between the 4 fans and...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

If I were to use the adapter in that link I would no longer need the apv 12-12, right? I just want to be sure before I spend more money. Thanks for the help guys.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

I was under the impression that the apv 12-12 needed ac voltage from the wall. Just to be clear, are you saying I should connect a voltage switcher in between the wall and the apv and try to alter the voltage going to the apv? Sorry for the dumb questions....I need to do more research.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Got a question that I'm having a hard time finding an answer for so I thought I'd try my luck here. I have ordered all of the components for a vero 29 light I want to build. I ordered 4 Vero 29 leds, a mean well 185h-c1050b, mean well apv12-12, and 4 arctic alpine 64 plus cpu coolers. The fans...
