Through the hull boat fittings will work. Water tight,cheaper than brass.The kits have it all,lock nut,rubber washer etc.etc.

Yea what he said.I topped dressed them once with a couple of inches,and 3 to 4 weeks later I had to use a 1/2" rod to poke holes through the top to the bottom.There was a mat of roots 3" thick at the top and would not take water.The bottom of the bucket had nary a root in it.
