This cabinet and all this COB/Arduino talk make me salivate. If I don't get to build something soon I might lose my mind. Keep up the good work, she's coming along nicely...even if she's a little lonely.
Much appreciated for your advice, this is exactly what I was hoping to hear. My trouble, however, is that my attention has shifted to lighting and I pretty well resigned myself to budgeting for an in-line fan for the sake of guaranteed results without the effort required, thus enabling me to...
Yeah, the cheapest I've seen elsewhere is about that much, unless you're looking to buy online. That fan was listed on ebay for $100 CAD. The same listing is now up over a grand for whatever reason, obviously an error. No filter included for the $100 price, of course.
A fellow Canadian...how aboot that, eh?
Appreciate the feedback and tips. I have every intention of mounting anything and everything that might vibrate with rubber gaskets/grommets. Further dampening....likely taking your advice...will come once I hear the beast in action.
As an aside, my...
Bathroom exhaust fan quieter than PC fans? That's impressive. I will definitely be looking at mounting foam and mounting on rubber to silence whichever fan we end up choosing. Thanks for the tips :) I'll have to compare CFM/DB ratings for the bathroom fans vs. inline fans in our price range.
Looks like there's a vendor in my area that has the same fan for close to that price, but the real kicker is it includes a speed controller. I'd be very interested to know how you like it when you get it.
That's what I was hoping to resolve by my arrangement of two on either end of the scrubber and two on the exhaust end, but I think once it's all said and done an inline fan like the one you've got en route will end up being more reliable and possibly even about the same price. Unfortunate...
Definitely appreciate your feedback on that, I was admiring your setup yesterday. Love the light. Pity those fans wouldn't pull thru. Didn't see what kind of filter you were using, but I'm thinking activated charcoal chunks in a tube design as has been DIY'd in quite a few designs on various...
The lighting will be LED, so heat isn't as big a concern as it might be otherwise. From what I've seen, in-line fans start a little more expensive than PC fans and, from personal experience, tend to be a hell of a lot louder.
