The local land race strains are so dominant that it will overwhelm any strains introduced. The locals have the opposite problem of not being able keep the new strains around longer than a few seasons. They would need to eradicate mountainsides in order to prevent the landrace from pollinating...

You'll want to turn your vent on. You need air movement to help pull out the moisture as it will just build inside the tent leading to mold. Could turn moldy quick if its musty after one day without action. That musty smell may go away with a good trim and cure but it may linger on the outside...
