they still stay on 12/12, they just get a few hours of genuine UVA/UVB rayz instead of just UVA from the CFL's... from what ive learned, its actually quite beneficial to bring indoor (CFL grown) plants outside for a few hours (15-30)per week...it gets more light to the lower areas, fresh air...
