That’s a large plant/ long time for 5 gal couldn’t imagine that thing in a 3 gal. You can see in your photos the roots all across the top soil even. Root bound/ lock out is definitely your problem

Throw her into a larger pot , make sure to rough up the edges of that old rootball.
