u can veg and flower using JUST mh. u can veg and flower just using hps. u can use a combination of the two since science has established that MH is better suited for veg and hps for flower. so no by switching the type of light wont be a super big deal to the plant...

u can use the hps for the entire grow, your yield wont be much considering your wattage. cfls/flourecent lights could be used with the hps on the side...just do the best you can in your given situation.
