Yes you can do all stages in the same jug, you just gotta give water more often for clones then veg/flower stages and change the light times and hopefully the lights too,
MH or florecents for clone and veg, HPS for flowering.
As for the rooting compound problem, i use a liquide rooting horomone concentrate KLN and mix with water.
i use about a 1/2 cap full in 2 liters of ph'd 5.0 water, take my clipings and instantly into the mixture for 1 hour, then i trim the clone and into the cloner it goes with straight water ph'd 5.0 - 5.5.
