The rule of thumb for inlet holes if you have fans is at least double the outlet, otherwise you get a negative air pressure. Ex. if you have 2 3" holes with fans for outlets, then you need 4 3" holes, or 2 6", holes for inlets. You can even have one 12" hole. lol I'm sure you get the point...
