How you are going to grow will determine most of the answers. Some people do small grows using cfl lights and then move up to better lights when they are ready. You can grow in soil medium or Hydro. This battle is won in the planning stages. I suggest you look into the FAQs which are at the top of the page and get an idea which direction you want to go.

what up man, i am thinking of starting my own grow and was wondering if it would be possible if u could answer me a few ?'s i have smoked since i was young and now dont wanna buy much smoke so i figured id try growing a few plants and if i did alright id grow some more it would be awesome if u hooked me up thanks
