in Illinois, flowering starts about the end of July. In mid-July, I take clones and root them. Their veg period is very short, but then they do a slight stretch and start flowering. I end up with a plant that is pretty much all bud. They are mature in mid-October or earlier. I can get about an...
I use a small jar of isopropyl 91%. I dunk my fingers in it while trimming, then top off the alcohol when it gets low. When it's pretty well saturated with trichomes, I pour it into a glass pie pan and let it evaporate. Fine hash.
I'm curious about an experiment that may or may not ever been done (although I'm sure it has) that goes like this:
Put a 3"seedling under 18/6 halide intil it is 6" tall.
Put the plant under 12/12 HPS until it is 12" tall.
Put the plant under 18/6 halide intil it is 18" tall.
Put the plant...
I've been going 130 days clone to harvest with Barney's Red Diesel. Veg 62 days, flowering in under 40 days. Harvest can last up to three weeks. Two plants hydro, 400W MH and 400W HPS. Using medium Advanced Nutrients and two week flush. I think the key is longer veg time if you have the room fro...
With only four grows under your belt, you may want to slow it down a bit. There are too many variables in growing indoors to waste money without that much experience. Maybe shoot for a couple of ounces a week to get up to speed. And remember, no vacations.
I bought 4 seeds from Gypsy Nirvana in Feb. 2010, FM-4, Northern Light. I planted two of the seeds and the seedlings struggled, tiny shriveled leaves but finally looked OK at about three weeks. These were transplanted to a spot in the country (some of the richest soil in the US). I germinated...

5/15/09: Transplanted five plants into sunny and moist location in Midwest soil.
6/20/09: Was surprised the plants are over 6' tall with no signs of flowering. Indica leaves for sure.
6/25/09: Patch getting too...
No runoff, but my tomatoes grow like crazy each year in that spot. I'm really kinda ticked off because I'm having a 4th of July party in the back yard where these are. Was hoping to have it all done by the 4th. Got the seeds from Attitude. Hope they're all fems, anyway.
Here's a pic of some Lowryder #2 feminized that I germed on April 25. I planted them outside when they were about two weeks old. 5 out of five seeds sprouted. I planted these for the reasons below:
Outdoor Harvest: 9 weeks from Seed
Height: Short, Medium
Characteristics: Bushy, very early...
