I did and it stopped them from growing and when I looked at the temp that close to the 85w cfl it was around 96-98F So it means 85 watt ones are emitting much more heat than 45 watt ones :) I am aiming to test doubling the number of cfl and using lower watts per lamp.

Those are 85watt cfl s each so they emit some heat, I have found that this is the optimum distance, which is is around 6 inches. Here is a photo of a smaller side bud (started the cyrstal production)
