You would do yourself a favor by purchasing an RO Water system. RO stands for Reverse Osmosis. The only thing that comes out the tap is pure H2O, no salts at all. You can get a system at Home Depot for about $150.

Add some Hydrogen Peroxide to your solution, that will help revive the plants. I add H2O2 to my solution twice per week, I add one 16 oz bottle of H2O2 to 5 Gallons of solution. The more oxygen the roots get the better they grow.

I use HPS for the entire grow cycle, have been for years with no probs.

Yes, but ethanol extracts more than just the Hash Oil, making the oil harsh. The best extraction solvent is Butane. If you cannot find out how to do it somewhere online, I'll explain if you want.

Just remember that your plants will triple in size when flowering. As long as you have the room to grow you can put them in flower when they are anywhere from 10 inches to 2 feet.
