For what it's worth here's what I'm getting vacuum wise. It's the best my pump will do, I'm guessing since I live at a higher elevation I'm not going to get the same vacuum as I would at sea level. Or maybe they just sold me a weak pump.
Ok after getting my nucleation issues resolved via some spot on advice in my other thread, I have a new question that can hopefully be resolved just as easily (hopefully I'm just making another noob mistake that needs to be corrected)
My problem is that my shatter won' shatter all the time. My...
Ok here's what I got. No nucleation this time! However it came out kinda sticky and a bit stretchy although it'll break after stretching a bit so it's not quite like taffy, but not quite shatter either. It's been in the vacuum chamber at around 120f for 3 days. Any ideas on why it's so soft?
I hope so, it would be great to have the problem identified so I can focus on doing something about it.
This is a batch I had winterizing when I posted the other day. After reading the replies I expected this result, it really backs up what's been suggested so far so i'm feeling encouraged. I'll...
Here's some pics of the crumbly stuff I've been talking about. First pic is right out of the vac chamber. Second pic is crumbled a little for a different view
Got it, thanks gk. I actually have air blowing on mine too when it dries. I used a 6" hole saw to cut a hole in each end of a 18 gallon or so tote. Then I ran the ducting from my fan/charcoal filter in my grow room into one hole and I got some duct coming out of the other one that carries all...
It only takes a couple of hours to purge? Theres another mistake I was making, I didn't let it get that dry before putting it in the chamber. I'd let the liquid evaporate but it was still kind of a paste or putty when I purged it, so it makes sense that any moisture I may have picked up along...
Ok, just wanted to make sure I had the part about freezing stuff for QWISO right haha. I'm feeling little silly for having to ask about this and especially for unnecessarily winterizing my QWISO like I was but thanks to you guys (or gals, hard to tell from screen names) I think I'm headed in...
