ScrOG may seem like something simple or useless, but in reality it's very efficient when dealing with small spaces or low lumen output.

In a scrog setup all branches are forced to grow horizontally, along the screen. this way all stems, and so, all buds, get the same amount of light. In a normal grow the lower buds always end up being small, finishing faster, with less potency because less light reaches them. This doesn't happen in a scrog grow where all the leaves get the same amount of light.

What's also great about scrog is that you can control the height of your plant. As long as you don't grow some 2m giant, any strain that normally reaches 1,4-1,6m can be grown in a scrog with a height of 30-60cm from the surface of the medium.

The only downside to scrog is the time required for the branches to grow into the screen, thus adding 1-2 weeks (depending on strain and conditions) more to the vegging period.

PS: wanted to add, scrog is a great way of maximizing cfl grows or micro grows, because you can minimize the distance between the bulbs and the canopy (formed by all branches), thus maximizing your yeald.
