IM GOING TO BE RUNNING 6 23 WATT 6500K CFLS, I WAS THINKING OF THROWING A MINI MH BULB INTO THE MIX IT IS A 70 WATT...I WOULD LIKE TO USE 400WATT BUT I CANT HANDLE THE HEAT RIGHT NOW AND THE WIRING INVOLVED AND DONT HAVE THE MONEY FOR A HOOD OR SOMETHING LIKE IT. WHAT IS SOME THOUGHTS ON THIS...

and for veg you want all 6500k bulbs you can use the red spectrum ones but they like those for flowering mainly..and might want to get the lights closer cfls lose half their lumens after being about 3 or so inches away get them close , just keep a fan on them to keep the bulbs cool and good airflow

dont feel bad man i just scrapped my last grow cuz it just wasnt working, my set up looked just like yours...try to make some rerflectors for the lights you are losing alot of useful light...what is your light schedule??

no worries im new at this also myset up is ghetto with cfls ,going to get 2 quantum badboy 4foot 12 lamp t5 systems come tax time, just keep reading on the forums they are really good i have learned a great deal so far

24 hrs wont hurt it some say it is actually better for it to have 24 hrs for a couple weeks but its all up to you. maybe do like a week or two of it then switch to 18/6 or 20/4 until you are ready to go into flowering..and with cfls adjust your plants or plant everyday so each part gets some...

during veg you want 6500k bulbs i.e. daylight. and u can throw in a couple 3000k or lower they are in the red spectrum. either way the more light the better but like i said keep a good air flow. what does your grow area look like?

yeah people say you can use all 6500 then some say mix and then some say all 3000k or lower guess ill try things out and see what happens...yeah thats my puppy:)

soo during flower should i run a mix of 6500k and 3000k or straight 3000....

i was looking at getting a quantum badboy 4foot 12lamp system instead of a mh or hps...so i dont have to deal with as much heat and i dont want the electric bill from it...does anyone have any exerience with this system?? i was thinking of maybe getting 2 of them i think that would handle like 6...

ok about to my one plant into flowering, i just want to get it over with it seems small but there is like 6 nodes or so i think and it seems full but i know it shoulkd be bigger..want to know ifi should put a few more 3000k bulbs on it that i have and get rid of the 6500k ones i have on it now...

i was running it at 24/0 im going to keep it at 18/6 for a week before i switch to 12/12...
