I'm starting my first SoG in a 4x4 grow tent and am trying to decide the better light 600W or 1000W for flowering.
Cost is about $100 more for the 1000W and I'll need a fan (which I don't need for the 600W). Plus increased kW $
Is the 1000W too much / overkill / unnecessary for that small an...
thanks so much - I'll give it a try....
Your point here is to go to a rapid rooter and soil first to get hardened off then to hydro. You think that hardening off is better then going directly to rockwool for the cutting and into hydro?
OK so , you:
1. Take the rooted mass and knock the soil off (not all just most I would guess)
2. You insert the rooted mass into a 6" rockwool cube. The hole is at the top and the rootmass just sits in the hole, right?
Then this is placed in the hydro setup/net pot?
How long till the roots come...
I'm with you up to the nock the dirt off the roots and go into rockwool cubes
part
What size rockwool cubes? How to you "go into them" - sorry for all the q's - but I really what to make this work!~
I am able to take clone cuttings and using my ez cloner-type machine get great starter roots growing off the shoots at about 2 weeks.
If I go to soil there is no problem, of course.
My question is if I wanted to use these cuttings in a hydro system.
What do the roots attach to?
Right now, in...
well, you don't NEED much - true - but if you want a decent yield in terms of size, wight, density of bud and make it worth your time, then yes, spending a little extra for good quality soil and nutes is worth it.
FF Happy Frog and Ocean Forest is a good mix - and you don;t need any nutes for...
The closet is painted flat white and I have mylar I'll put up for better reflectivity.
I have one 4 foot T5 and it sounds as if I buy two more I should be fine
thanks
I am starting a small closet (4 x 2) area to hold clone mothers (~6) and starter clone cuttings.
I was planning on using a 400w MH i have - but think it's too much light AND heat for this few plants and Florescent would be a better way to go.
I am wondering how little light I need? 4feet x...
A grower friend suggested I switch from my 400W MH light to a 4" x 6 bulb T5 florescent light.
I am currently using one MH 400 W bulb in the Veg room (4 x 4 grow tent), which should produce around 36,000 lumens (according to bulb manufacturer)
If I purchase a 4" by 6 bulb florescent fixture...
ok, thanks! I'll keep going. I agree - I maybe watering too much.
The noobies curse - doing too much "but if I do nothing they can't get along w/o me!" - They done ok w/o me for thousands of years....
