Yup it'll work fine. Get a carbide-tipped masonry bit if at all possible. Also, use two pieces of masking tape to make an X where you want to drill. This will help keep the bit from sliding all over. Be sure to use a fairly light pressure towards the end to keep the hole clean all the way...
