depends on the plant...they will SHOW you which way they prefer...
the plants will tell you more than any grower can. you take the new knowledge into the next grow.
Mistakes are the hidden gold of growing...if you aren't fucking up shit you ain't learning squat...mistakes can lead to unexpected and happy results too
deer and what not nibble on them all the time and they do just fine in the wilds...
they expect some losses depending on where the strain originates from...those from predator free lands may not like the abuse so much
you just have to do it both ways to see what you personally find the most satisfying in my opinion
