Guys, I have an 8 inch fan attached to a Wye connector in order to split my ducting for two rows of lights. Currently only one row is being used, so I covered one end of the Wye with a circular piece of cardboard and secured it with aluminum duct tape as a seal.
Only thing I'm concerned about...
I need to route power from another room and can't cut holes into the walls (I'm in an apartment). This will require about 30-40 feet of extension cords to my lights. Is this going to cause a substantial drop in the lumen output of the lights?
I recently read a post where a grower tried out 2 cycles using 1/2 tbs per 5 gal Dynagrow (chemical) vs 4-5 tbs Pure blend pro (organic).
THis would make the chemical nutrients about 10 times as strong - is this about right? I just assumed the NPKs would be about the same but I've never used...
I've heard that the carb loading formulas (like Sweet from Botanicare) are just blackstrap molasses with other preservatives mixed in. Is this true? Can I just skip the expensive bottles and buy some cheap molasses?
I've heard dolomite lime is the same as Cal-Mag which I currently use. Does that mean I can simply use the garden lime in my hydro garden instead of the cal-mag?
Thanks
Seems to me just the removal of of heat buildup would remove so much heat emissions from the lights, that running cool air through them wouldn't add too much. I could easily be wrong though. Has anyone noticed a significant drop in temperature (5+ degrees) in the grow room itself when...
I'm more of a techie than a gardener and have been really looking at those growtronix systems. From what I've read from others they can do everything: control CO2, temps, humidity, adjust ph and PPM via drip feeders, even shut off the lights or pumps in case of a critical reading. And they do it...
My tent is 10 feet long so I'm thinking of running a cross beam down the middle and nailing the 2x4's to each side of it. If I do this then each 2x4 will be about 5 feet long
