Use some yellow sticky pads to catch any adult thrips flying around. Use a bio insecticidal of some sort to get rid of them faster and more effectively than neem oil and like OldMedUser says, spray the top soil a bit too for sure.

That's exactly what I'm worried about... that spores have already germinated inside every top bud which will take a few days to show on the outside. The more I was hashing out the pros and cons here while typing this post the more I was convincing myself to chop them all today.

Trust me you do not want to deal with mold. It took 1-2 nights of around 80% rh and lower temps at night to spawn bud rot (Botrytis) mold in my room which lost me about half the plant and a cola on another. Do whatever u have to to lower that humidity. Any result is better than mold imo
