    This is This is a great idea! You could also do the opposite and have them shaded in the afternoon during the hottest hours of the day, this would also help with water issues. I have also heard that the morning sunlight is especially good for some plants.

    This is a common question. It is possible and I'm sure its been done before, though it does involve additional work and planning. If you have access to the right tools/materials I would say give it a shot. Just make sure there is a good balance of sunlight and cover. Also watering may be tough...

    why do I see such hardy shrubs and saplings on the forest floor? It leads me to believe an experiment is long overdue. I have a variety of strains to test this method with come spring.
