It's harvest time and I'm finally done trimming. Everything is drying nicely but woke up to find one of my strings broke last night. Oh well, retied a new string and up they went. This year I've been using paper clips and they work great. Easy to hang, reusable and cheap.
One of my plants fell over after this last storm. Been busy trimming and working to dam much. The rest are good for little while longer but it won't take much more frost for the rest to die. I had some small branches die off and all the fan leaves froze, not the usual yellowing but crunchy...
Wednesdays storm did a little damage but only had one branch break. Good news it looks like the weather is going to hold out for another 2 weeks. Halloween harvest this year.

I like to save the best bud for special occasions. You know those times when a buddy loads a bowl of swag, so you drop a nugget of your best bud on table. The looks are priceless and worth the trouble.
Thanks. So far the best bud off this plant was from an early sample two weeks ago. Not exactly mind blowing stuff like it has been in past years. But the taste is surprisingly good for uncured quick dried bud.

They depends on the species. Some ants won't touch it Some will bite the stems to drink the sugar water. They can chew the leafs up.
Getting rid of them is poison or bait. None of them have a 100% kill rate but do a good job keep the population down.
Backyard growers are the worst about stressing. The simplest solution is usually the right answer. Go out after it rains or morning dew and give each little shake. Watch for mold and harvest when they are ready.
