Thirty Six Hour Dark Period: A Myth With Some Truth

by Blazed Hippie on 04-29-2010 at 08:11 AM
Recently, I heard that a 36 hour dark period could help growth and even help resin production. First thing I did when I heard this was look it up in both of the bibles. Greg Green didn't seem to mention it, that was my first clue. My second clue was when I read about it in Jorge's bible. He said there is NO real reason to do this unless you are impatient to determine plant sex. I did my own research and tried it myself in my last grow. The reason I decided to do this was curiosity and my plants

Hermaphrodites: A Common Misconception

by Blazed Hippie on 04-28-2010 at 08:55 AM
There seems to be a large amount of disagreement on this site as to what causes hermaphrodites. I will attempt to dispell rumors, using my experiences and research. Recently on this forum someone told me the ONLY way to get hermaphrodites was from light leakage. I told him that is completely false and asked for proof. Needless to say the thread died there. Feminizing seeds methods

Creating feminized cannabis seeds is an art. Just like art, there are a few different methods of application. I have written

Over thinking: The Newbies Dilemma

by Blazed Hippie on 04-27-2010 at 09:05 AM
Everyone knows, stoners are impatient. This is the main cause of over thinking in the indoor grow. Something I have noticed on these forums is the abundance newbs asking questions about seedlings. Why seedlings? Because it is the first stage of growth, and where the grower is most susceptible to over thinking. I even see before the grow posts often asking questions about the future. Heres some of the ones I did, pretty comical in retrospect. Seed Leaves With White Splotches , Ventilation Question .

Animals In The Garden: Protection or Hindrance?

by Blazed Hippie on 04-26-2010 at 09:11 AM
Pets in the outdoor garden can be very useful, however indoors they are more than an annoyance. I love my pets, I have a dog named Greedo and a cat named Zig-Zag. Both of them love to be everywhere I am. This is a problem as I have seen in my indoor garden. I am in my 3rd week of veg right now. I constantly find small white dog hairs and small grey cat hairs on my leaves. The resin holds it there. They aren't even allowed in the room usually. Since they wanna hang out with the people so much,
