sorry I got a little distracted with computer issues and laziness
I got the LEDs from ebay, the soldered them onto pref boards and whatever I could find. I must say though that after soldering hundreds of LEDs like xmas lights together... I should of just bought the premade ones...
looks like a setup similar to what I have. I used plywood and erector set for my light fixture :D.
The CFLs have coke can relectors on them... not hte best, but does make a difference. For reflective material i used mylar. works the best and can withstand heat pretty well.
If you are building...
they look like they're doing fine. I'm also doing a LED grow, but with 4 CFLs and 600+ LEDs. I'm gonna create an active journal now that my girls are really starting to get some nice buds. :)
thats gonna be a nice setup. you got 30 of those grow bulbs? that must of cost a bit. I'm glad to see that more people are experimenting using leds.
I'm also doing a LED grow. My girls are going into their third week of flowering using about 92 watts of CFLs and 35 watts of LEDs. I have...
Couple more photos.
1st showing above the canopy looking towards the back of the room.
2nd above looking down.
3rd light fixture build using steel tech (erecter set), plywood, mylar, and a lot of time
as promised, pictures. :)
I'm doing this in a closet so there is very limited space. There should be plenty of room though for these three plants.
Right now there is a bagseed which has been flowering for almost 4 weeks. The one with buds on it in the back. The bagseed was the test plant and...
yeah freekin spider mites! I'm currently raging war against them. washing the plants down and spraying with neem oil has been pretty effective so far.
useful information though, thanks mogie :)
The room my plants are to be flowering in is the exact same dimensions, they can only grow to about 3 feet tall though. It should fit 3 for flowering.. maybe put up a mesh to make a bonzi plant.
that may also work well for your room, that way you get a kinda carpet of top buds
Maybe compare isn't the word I wanted. I know hid and fluorescents are completely different, they each produce light in a different way, leds too.
Anyway, what I'm trying to do is not use a HID lamp as the growing space is very small and I already have heat problems. Since the leds give off...
