Hi,
I don't know of any books, but I spent many hours reading through tutorials and journals on this site. There is a wealth of knowledge here.
Store bought systems have their benefits. They are generally very easy and fast to setup. In addition, they have already had the "kinks" worked out of them. Designing an aero system properly means dialing in pressures, plumbing and pumps to get optimum efficiency. When you buy a good system, this has already been done.
The benefit of a DIY is that you can customize it to fit your needs. You can control how many sites, how close together, what footprint... When you buy a system, you'll need to adapt your grow area to it.
I'll help you anytime I can. Just post in the forum and then send me a link in a PM. It's always better if everyone can benefit from our discussion...
Good Luck!
