how do i extract thc using hexane?

I'm sorry but I need more detail cause I have no idea what you are talking about.

Why would you want to use hexane? Isn't that a byproduct of petroluem? Hmmmm, sounds tasty! Why not use grain alcohol, or some other readily available solvent that won't kill you? Even simple ISO would work. If you go with the grain alcohol, you probably will also need a bonding agent.

yeah making some green dragon with everclear r even 151 well work too, but the higher the proof the better the solvent. ( good stuff)

I am assuming this is a variant of the butane extraction method. If so, make a pipe-bomb of sorts... pvc tube capped on either end. Drill a drain hole in bottom and a hole in the top big enough for the nozzle to fit in. Then pack the pvc with leaf matter and discharge the gas into the pipe... in a WELL ventilated area. Have a collection tray below the pipe and wait 10-15 mins for it all to drain out. Then allow this to breathe for a few hours to let the remaining gas escape.


*** BTW I don't know for sure hexane works - I know butane does so I assume it would.

Use acetone.MAKE SURE IT IS 100% ACETONE. and dont get caught looking at the backs of acetone containers at stores cuz its used to make the shit the terrorists tried to make on the plane. yes it is toxic. but all you have to do is grind up the weed, and put it in the acetone. acetone is cheaper than alcohol. plus water disolves nasty parts of the marijuana that will make ur hash less pure. maybe do an experiment w/ acetone and grain alcohol and see which one disolves more substance and which one produces a more pure or tastier substance. LET THE ACETONE EVAPORATE COMPLETELY B4 SMOKING THE THC!!

Dude, it's all good! I know of the butane method, but never heard of the hexane method. Being an old timer, alcohol was the preferred method when I was young. Never tried the butane method.......yet. lol

acetone would definitely be the best organic solvent if this is for an experiment only. i say experiment only because there are a lot of free benzene rings in commercial acetone...cancer....but you would already know this if you were doing an actual experiment so i'll shut up.


if you intend to "use" the THC in your body, go with lab grade methanol (race car fuel) or ethanol (stuff you drink), heat to their evaporation temp to remove it from your end product. both are relatively safe, very pure.
