my friend has been approved for his med card and is awaiting the official card also he has asked me to grow for him as he does'nt know anything about it.(and likes my free weed) my question is would i be better off not having a care license or having one. he tells me they will need my info to get the card and that scares me. will they ask questions. why would i be qualified to grow? my state is very vague on the marijuana laws its legal but there is still no way for patients to get meds no clubs etc. i'm just afraid if i get a card it will arouse suspision and screw me. what do you think?

You have valid points of concern,IMO it can be a catch 22,lets say you do get the card,are you going to be able to grow enough for both of you & still be within the law or are you going to be forced to grow more plants than the law allows ?

That would be my concern,if you are not able to stay 100% within the law i do not see the benifit of making yourself a known mj producer.

its also going to depend on your state. I dont know your state, or its laws, but for the most part, you as a caretaker are protected by all state and local punishments as long as you keep your garden within your stated guidelines. In my state, the list of patients and caretakers is completely closed to everyone except the people who enter the names, issue the cards, and verify numbers. The DEA has an "off the records" policy not to go after chronically ill patients and their caretakers, and generally stay out of any cases involving less than 100 plants. I read all that in articles recently as i am also interested in getting my med card.

I have been thinking a lot about moving to one of these states and going legit. My only worry would be if they changed the law again they have your address and may bust you. I dont know. Just a thought.

How would they get my address? All this info. falls under medical privacy. There is no database, at least in Cali. unless you get the state card ( issued by county health dept. )

They have to report it to the capital or whomever because of some sort of over sight. With that being said I have thought long and hard about exactly what your concern is; I'm leaning towards getting a card. I'm not sure they have inspectors that come and view your grow - do they? If your commercial oriented currently perhaps you could find a niche of being the source for LEGIT facilitators of weed - in a very major way. Then again if its for personnel then the NUMBER of plants would have to be maximize and hat would mean outdoor. I think its all bullshit, we have to WORRY about something we are doing in our private lives that is self contained. Grown, smoked, consumed all under one roof - how safe is that? Back to the card; if your wise - the card can be VERY benefical - you'll have to let your imagination work for you there; who knows who reads these post - good luck on your decision. I self medicate and am healthier then a fox - I am responsible - but enjoy SUPERIOUR SMOKE, as some enjoy fine liquors, expensive cigars, etc. etc. etc. What better way to cap of a nice meal then smoking a well aged bud of a fine strain of cannabis? I'm not talking street commercial trash - I'm talking the finest grown, timely cured - and somebody is going to tell me that is wrong? How the hell we come so far yet so little in one's self rights and basic responsibility. The issue I take up with is; many NON RESPONSIBLE people make policy thinking all of us folks are irresponsible - we will run wild in the street - blah, blah, blah - no we won't - you will, you have and will continue to - but we won't; and what I'm talking about is natural - with a lot of quality value when used responsibly. I don't know what is more crazy - the marijuana laws or laws that legislate my right to do what I want to do as long as it doesn't stand in the way of another person(s) pursuit of their life, liberty and their pursuit of happiness. I'm not hurting anybody - let's smoke some....peace...that's my rant for the night.
