I was reading another post and was think about how pot has affected my life. I suffered from depression for a large part of my adult life and did not even know it. I just thought it was how everybody felt and it was normal. I self medicated for years with alcohol. I would smoke pot on occasion and really liked it but never really had a connection. Two and a half years ago my drinking came to an abrupt end as it was getting out of control. After about two years of not drinking my depression became apparent. For the first time I considered suicide and as a result I sought medical care. I was diagnosed with depression and given Zoloft. The Zoloft worked but I still suffered from low level depression and the drug seemed to raise my anxiety level (I had never suffered from anxiety in my entire life). The anxiety increased and at one point I was having panic attacks. My doctor adjusted the dose and all was well for a while. Zoloft seemed to suppress my depression rather than treat the cause. When I encountered life stress my depression would return and be worse each time. I began to seek other alternatives at this point I looked into various spiritual practices. I made a break through with a certain practice and meditation. At this point I realized if I was to move further I had to stop taking the Zoloft as it was dulling life. At first it was very difficult but I soon made another breakthrough and felt peace and bliss for the first time in my life. I continued my practice and soon encountered a road block in my mind. I smoked pot for the first time in years and began to have what can be best described as a spiritual experience. My meditation and practice expanded and I was free from old thought patterns entirely. Since this time I have continued my practice and have not been depressed and have been through some very stressful circumstances. Pot has given me new life and I truly believe that this plant is a gift and has more medicinal value than we can imagine. I have not smoked in over a month and still feel fine. I was wondering if anyone else would be willing to share their experiences with pot and depression.

Hi Try hemp seeds (happy seeds). I have been on anti depression meds since 1992. Clean and sober 13 years. Then the two dog plant came into my life in 2005. I never looked back. I eat hemp seed, drink hemp milk and smoke two dog plant. Life is great.

Yeah pot definitely helps with the depression. Its hard to be sad when your high.

Cool where do you get hemp products most grocery store do not sell them. Why do you call it two dog plant? What does that mean?

The two dog plant is cannabis. Brought to us by the people on the two dog star (suris A and suris B) There is an African tribe that worships this star and every 50 years there is a 1 year long smoking fest that would put the cannabis cup to shame. It is good reading google it.
