| | Bipolar II Disorder, Paranoid Schizophrenic, Multiple Personallity Disorder..... All under control when sweet mary is running strong through my system. You see these medicine commercials nowadays.
I wouldn't fuck with the doctor prescribed death traps.
"Yeah take this once a day, oh by the way, It may cause:
uncontrollable vomiting,
shitting on yourself,
Painful sores up and down your body,
your penis to fall off,
all body hair falls off,
blindness,
deafness,
finger nails fall off,
heart stops beating,
Eye balls fall out,
Change of a persons sex is common with most clients."
What the fuck is with these pills they are putting on the market.
"Oh it's ok, by the time they die from it well already have our money!"
It's like they just throw this shit on the market and say fuck who uses it as long as they get paid. Fuck the Govt. I'll stick with my all natural medication, Rather die from cancer than my dick falling off.

| | Thank for the response. I also take depakote for mood swings on top of a combination of other psychotropics. It took afew years for me as well to get on the right meds. I also had aggressive tendecys. And again like I sid, during those tmes marjuana was my enemy. Ever time I would smoke Iwould have awful panic episodes. This is why I trust my doctor. She did me right. Now Ive found something that Ididnt tink I would ever have any interest doing: grwng marijuana! |

| | Wow I am very impressed by your post regarding mental disorders. I passed up this thread because I read metal. Yes I have to agree with you about this. I am bi-polar and have been able to cut my meds down by half using cannabis to help. I do have a tendency to abuse it for sure. I think the right strain make a huge difference as some weed just does not go well with me. I have to agree with the natural approach to treating illness even mental ones. I feel so strongly about this that I got my degree and diploma in nutrition just to help myself better. It is was a holistic approach and although they don't suggest 'not' taking meds, they do offer alternative approaches, some of which you have mentioned like yoga and meditation. Exercise is extremely important for relieving stress. Eating the right diet makes a big difference also. They have found that most people with mental disorders have high amounts of mercury in their systems, have food sensitivities9like gluten or dairy) and /or chemical ones..one being ariticial food sweetners like aspartame. There is also massage therapy, accupucture or pressure, water therapy, reiki....the list is long. This was so refreshing to read this on a weed forum. Thank you so much. Quote:

Natural cures are extremely effective if you are open to them. If you dont believe they will work... why would they?
And my best recomendation of ALL is to start doing yoga and meditation... If you are into any metaphysics or anything of that nature, one starts to realize that all negative emotions are actually stored in the body, in muscles and in organs. You must start learning to truly relax. Most people unconsciously hold TONSSSSSSSS of bad energy/emotions/hate/suisidal thoughts in their body. Once you realize this you can start to make progress. Start to notice how every time you feel a negative emotion you tense a body part. That is how you store these negatie emotions. Once you can see it coming and consciously Relax, you will realize you have total control over yourself.
If you actually are interested in gaining some mental health, start to do some Yoga..etc when you smoke some MM
Once you get used to this stuff, it becomes routine to relax, and you do it automatically (just as it used to be routine to store those emotions). All thats needed is some Re-wireing or Re-programming of the mind pattern! | |

| | It's kind of a joke but not really.
If you find yourself with time to watch TV, Keep an eye out for these new medication commercials. They always have some sweet voice telling about all the life threatening side effects that may occur!!
Jesus... No thanks.
(Actual quote but I forgot the name of the drug)
"In some cases, patients have had their hearts stopped beating...." It's crazy. Next time you see a medication commercial on just wait till they stop telling you how great it is, then they have to list all the side effects.

| | I am one of the fortunate few here in Alaska that is prescribed medical marijuana. Since the Feds started threatening to get shitty, doctors up here are not quite so ready to prescribe. I have been legal for five years. My doctor is a bible thumping, born again, fundamentalist, but he says he would rather see me driving down the road with a joint than a beer. I believe there is less than 150 of us in the state of Alaska. I use marijuana to control my mental illness. It is much more effective and a lot less scary than some of the psych meds they have tried to introduce me to...Zyprexa, Seroquel, Geodon. Pot eases my manic-y behavior, helps my depression... I don't use Flexeral or Soma anymore, the pot is just as effective for the muscle spasms in my back and my peripheral neuropathy. I also have a hard time keeping weight on, so besides med marijuana, I am also prescribed Marinol (synthetic THC). I also find that growing my pot plants is also a very therapeutic outlet for me. Write back! bearsbuds |

Write back! bearsbuds | Hi bearsbuds, glad you joined us. Lucky you in Alaska. I'm in the UK so no chance of getting legalised, I just have to break the law and hope for the best. In my earlier post I was saying I find marijuana to be great for helping me through my bipolar disorder, both the depressions and the manic episodes. In fact I just don't tend to get the latter at all, but I have to be "stoned" ALL of the time - LOL - something I am quite happy to put up with.
Do you mind if I ask if you use different strains for the various aspects of your condition? Or do you have a favourite that works for everything? |

I am often hypo manic and some weed makes me worse If I get depressed then the weed I was smoking no longer does the trick but makes me worse. Its a juggling act at times.
