Does anyone have any info regarding what the current status is to date, for a new patient getting ready to apply for a medical marijuana card in southern cal?

I found this on the medi- can, site but its dated 2005, i cant seem to find anything up to date..
and what about the statement that i put in bold?

Qualified patients who want to apply for a state card will have to wait for Attorney General Bill Lockyer's review and response."

thats a state card. a OPTIONAL card to get. Marijuana Law Reform - NORML read california laws. Then google "CA medical marijuana evaluations" and see all the active doctors writing scripts.
