I so need help learning the varieties and strains. It'd be easier if the search function didn't have a minimum word/search term requirement.

Yes ... try this:

Welcome to the official site of LYRICA - Find more information about Nerve Pain, DPN, PHN and Partial Onset Seizures

It has reduced symptoms in a friend by 80%. Also, proper nutrition is helping her as well.

You'll need a doctor's prescription for the Lyrica.

side affects of lyrica are really SCAREY... be careful is all im saying...

my gf of three years had fibro and the ONLY thing that seems to ease her pain is pot. i dont get why all her doctors want her to take is anti-depressents (like 2 or 3 different ones at once). she says its hell on them, almost like she is in a fog and lack emotion.

Because they don't take the disorder/disease seriously. They think it's in her head. Besides, if she's medicated she won't complain so much. My dad's a doc, and I learned a long time ago how to be a bitch with them, but that doesn't improve treatment by unqualified physicians. Is there any way she can find someone who specializes in fibro, or at least accepts that it exists and will treat her problem instead of her head?

Fibromyalgia is a very complex illness. I would say Jack Herer would be a good one for pain and anxiety.

Yes, I mean Canada, Vermont's not so close to Mexico and their marijuana laws are rather strict.

I understand about the pain, the oxycontin, even if it does work, needs to be monitored and will lose efficacy after a period of time. It's not even working for you at all, so why take it, right? I assume that you know that marijuana works for you, so the question for you at this point is procurement. If you're close enough to Canada, then it seems to me that, even if you have to limit yourself to smoking it while there (get a hotel room, maybe?) then for at least that period of time you'll get some relief. Even a brief respite from chronic pain is important, I really do understand that. Hell, the other night my husband did a hip rub for me and it felt SO good I wanted to cry, literally. I hadn't realized just how much I've been hurting without any relief until I felt those few minutes of no pain.

So, yeah, if you've got a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, you qualify as a chronically ill patient.
