Default Medical Marijuana for Depression
So I have an appointment to receive my medical marijuana license. The reason is depression. They want me to bring proof that I was diagnosed. How can I do this without shelling out an additional $200 for a doctor appointment. (I was diagnosed several times in the past as my medical records show) Is there a place I can pick up my records so I don't have to pay extra money and time to get my license?

Getting a medical license for marijuana isn't as simple as that.
I have more than depression and have so many records I don't even remember half the doctors I have go to.
I am in the same sitaution you are however my specialist retired and my GP sent me to another specialist and it just did not go over well at all.
I don't want to bring you down or anything BUT don't expect this to be easy. Its NOT!!!
And a word of advise from my own personal experience. The term 'medical marijuana' is almost a swear word in this forum. For some reason it is not looked apon favourably

For physical conditions it is much easier for a diagnosis to be established and a card given but you are talking about a mental disorder and they are a lot more strict. Justifyably so. Physical symtoms are obvious but these illnesses are not

What you will have to do is get all your past records and take them in to see the doctor. It is going to take you some time so learn to be patient. (no pun intended)

go to the dr's office that diagnosed you in the past. request copies of your records. it may take a few days for them to dig them up.

I had my Gp sent in records with proof of my diagnosis but it didn't do me any good.

I don't mean to sound negative or cynical but perhaps its just that psycological disorders are more difficult to process than people with physical disorders. At first I was kinda ticked about it but it does make sense.

People without depressive disorders can go through major depressions so you need to prove you have a history, not just a diagnosis. If you get what I mean.

I think it is going to take you more than a few days for them to dig them out.

I just don't want you to get your hopes up.
I sincerely wish you the best of luck and please keep us posted.

Yes I read about it in your posts FDD. I've also read about a lot of people having no problems BUT I have yet to find anyone with a 'mental disorder' OH I hate that term, that has gotten through.
I know of a few here but I have not yet been ablke to get that info.
I think it is from old threads ro something.

I've have been actively at this for months now with no success. I'm not meaning to discourage, in the least since I have a similar disorder, but
just thought I would mention some road blocks that you may or may not be faced with.

But stay persistent!

that is why the law is abused so much because so many conditions fall under "any illness or condition"

No kidding! Thats awesome. Thats is so NOT the case for me.
I have a number of psycological disorders and honestly did not think I was going to have any problem. In fact I was very confident that i was going to get one.

The difficult part about all this in Canada is that if you don't have a specialist currently treating you who can sign your papers, then you have to find a doctor on your own who will.

In the states you guys have a link to all the doctors who are willing to sign but in Canada there is no such thing.
Even approaching the subject of doctors who prescibe seems to be a real taboo subject because I have been in touch with so many people and haven't really gotten anywhere.

I'm just sent around in circles.

Right now my plan is to join a compassion club forum and see if I can find any info. I don't know what else to do.
I have over 30 years of medical records.
