Moving to Colorado to get MMJ (denver maybe)

Ive spoken to a doctor and i do qualify for MMJ in colorado. Im currently going to college and therefore I deffiently want to go to school in colorado. I have the money, the group of people, and the dedication to make it out there and get my damn MMJ card and to hopeuflly grow (still). Can anybody provide me any information on bigger cities (150,000+) that have a great college.

We are all looking for a college or several in a small area that offer: engineering, mastors psychology, business admin, and social work

Also what should I know about Denver colorado.. is this a good place to be and get a MMJ card so i can smoke and grow?

Denver is very pot friendly. I just got my license and theres's dispensaries all over the place.

Congratulations on the card. I got a few questions if you dont mind. What do i gotta do to get a MMJ card.. I contacted CMM business and they said they will file the paper work for me plus send me to a doctor for a $250 fee. What are some good ways to approach the doctor? Did you already have medical records supporting your conditon or will they document it for you on the spot. I got into a bad car wreck and they said i was lucky to live. They said I had wiplash but i never went to see the doctor regularly because i can smoke weed to take care of the pain. Any tips bud.. totall plus rep for this one bud

Depends on where you go. Some doctors require records of a pre existing condition, some don't. Some of these places all you have to do is walk in and tell them you have persistent pain and they'll sign your paperwork. You can also find plenty of places where it's less then $250. $90 goes to the state, so the rest of the fee is for the doctors appointment and notary to stamp your paperwork. The doctor I go to charges $200 (including the $90 for the state), and I know there are others around that charge less.

The CDPHE is back logged right now with some 40,000 applications...so getting a card anytime soon isn't going to happen. Plus dickhead politician and LEO's are trying their best to shut down MMJ as we know it in CO, make no mistake about it. California has a better climate for MMJ right now than any other US state I'm afraid.

I checked out California and anybody can get MMJ which is cool but the cost of living is to high for me. The cost of living in Colorado is the same as where im at now so i know i can survive out there while going to college. The doc told me that if he approves me then he will allow me to temporarily get some MMJ until i get my ID card... is there any truth to this that i can get weed before i get my ID card as long as the doc approved me? Also can i grow before i get my card? How guaranteed am i to get MMJ? and how long will it take to get the card since the system is backlogged?

Its to expensive to rent a place and i gotta live close to campus which is where the high prices of living are

Got mine in Denver for $120, Dr. Shackleford. Very professional guy. Requested all my previous records which showed prior surgeries and current regimen of pain management injections. I was pretty much a no brainer candidate as im just a normal professional who was looking for an alternative to all the pharmaceuticals ive been pushed since getting out of the military in 92.

I didn't really know what to expect when i went, so i took along some of my medical records and the police report about the car accident that screwed up my back, but never actually needed them. In my case the doctor called me in, asked me why I wanted to use MMJ, and had finished signing the paperwork before I was done with my explanation. She never even asked to see the records. On the other hand, some doctors are going to want all your medical records, xrays, etc, and may still want to do a complete physical before they will recommend it.

As for being able to use MMJ while you're waiting for the card, all you need is to have a notarized copy of the paperwork from the doctor that was sent to the state registry and you're covered until the state finally gets around to issuing your card. You have to go back and get the paperwork re notarized every 90 days though.

Thanks for the information. Im about 90% positive that Denver Colorado is my next home town. What are some good suburbs in there... close to the engineering campus downtown.

Denver sounds like a blast and its got some very good pot laws.. it totally beats Mo. out of the bush.. there pot laws will give you up to live in prison... if you sale 5gm its a felony... possesion of more then 35 gm is a felony... growing more then 5gm is a felony... its fucked up around there

Im checking into CSU but im not to familiar with them or any other colleges. I can go to any college without problems as long as they offer a degree im looking for. Im nearly complete with my AA degree and im considering either engineering or maybe business management as my bachelors... when i get there im getting right into the pot culture so i can know alot of things that will help me start my own shop back home (when its legal there).

Both me and my bro were able to leave the dispensary with meds the day the doctor signed the paperwork. I don't know how hard it is to get it but it seemed easy for both of us we just set up an appointment. I think if you are a better candidate it is easier to get one cuz my bro said they were turning people away but he went right through. When you get here just pick up a free newspaper called the westword and there is sooooo many ads of dispensaries that want you to go through them. gl

We have a ton of colleges/universities to chose from in Denver, so finding one with the right program shouldn't be hard. You could go to Denver University(assuming you want to pay their high tuition rates), University of Colorado-Denver, Colorado State University-Denver, Metro State, Colorado School of Mines, etc. I graduated from the University of Phoenix, so i don't have any personal experience with the local schools programs, but i've heard that both CU Denver and the Colorado School of Mines have good engineering programs.

Where you're going to want to live is really going to depend on what you can afford and what kind of neighbors your willing to put up with. It's possible to live close to all the campuses, but it's not really cheap, and with all the downtown campuses the closest affordable housing is in neighborhoods where most people would really rather not live. If you don't mind neighbors that don't speak English and your not the kind to cause trouble with the local gangbangers you might want to think about the commerce city or west denver- I've owned a house in Commerce City for three years and haven't had any issues, but I also mind my own business and don't give anyone any reason to want to mess with me.

Thanks for the feedback. I keep to myself and dont involve myself in any gangs or their activites. I dont mind foreigners or people that speak different languages. In fact ive had several roomates from overseas that have different religions and languages. I can afford around 600 for a 2 bedroom apt. I am not sure if i really want an apartment or maybe a duplex or house. It just all depends on location and cost.

I do prefer to be away from crime and gangs as im not wanting shot or to get caught up in anything. I dont want to worry about leaving my house and getting shot or mugged as i walk down the sidewalk. I also want to be close to public transportation. Are there light rails or just city buses in denver and he sorrounding areas? I really dont know where to go when i get there. I just know that i have the money and me and my roomates are heading that way to finish our degrees. If i half to live furthur away from campuses then ill do that and ill go buy a car or motorcycle.

My plan is to get a job with medical marijuana and to get my MMJ lisence. My roomates are looking for any job they can get. Also we will be going to college while we work. Whats are some of the better/cheaper colleges around there? And what advise can you give me for my moving trip? As i have never moved like this before.
