Default Want to be a caregiver in Colorado
Hi all, my company recently did the web-design for a Colorado MMJ dispensary... in the process we learned a lot about the industry - and being entrepreneurs - are very interested in the possibility of eventually starting our own dispensary.

Starting a business, getting the right permits for a store ect - is no problem for us - where we get stuck is becoming a licensed caregiver.

How do you do it? Do we need to be MMJ users/cardholder to be a caregiver in Colorado? Or is there another way?

Any tips would be very helpful.

Many thanks,
-Asmo

As far as I can tell from reading the law, you do not need to be a cardholder to be a caregiver. However if you get your own card, that is another 6 plants you grow.

Competition for customers is becoming stiff in Colorado. Everyone and their brother is opening a dispensary with more on the way every week. I now have 7 within walking distance of my house. The nice established ones are doing very well but the newer ones are fighting for customers.

Many cities are putting 90 day moratoriums on new dispensaries until they can come up with zoning laws.

As far as I know you just have to have someone name you as their caregiver on their license. Each patient that lists you as their caregiver allows you 3 veg and 3 flowering plants. The state does not license caregivers....yet...
