Hey,

So I've been having a lot of chronic abdominal pain lately and very little appettite and am smoking throughout the day for this. This is taking a toll not only on my baggie/wallet but also on my lungs. I'm also on a medication that's inducing a dry cough and I don't want to make it worse.

So my question is, do you think a vaporiser is worth it? I had a little one I bought for $100 but it didn't work very well.

So before I spend more on one, I was wondering if you think it would benefit be at all. I'd like to get it before the holidays if I can, but my wallet may not allow it as I've been too sick to work for almost 2 months and have had ZERO income during this time.

So the points I need to cover are some such as but not limited to...

- Do vaporizers help save bud? For my old one to work, you had to use SO much more (probably about 300% the amount of a joint just for it to WORK.

- Are they worth the money in the short/long run?

- Do they benefit those using marijuana for medical purposes more than a joint or a bong or pipe would?

- Which vaporizer would you recommend? Is the Volcano really worth it? I'm not sure I could afford it...

My only personal experience is with the Volcano and the Silver Surfer Vaporizer. I own the SSV but have used the Volcano several times.

Yes it can save you so much herb. I still get pretty ripped on both, but it's definitely a different high than I'm used to when I rip a bong. Probably cause it's a much cleaner hit.

The SSV is about $250 or so. But great product, and really easy to use. I have fairly high tolerance, but I know it definitely stretches my bag much further than if I'm packing bowls. And if I find that I'm not quite getting stony enough just inhaling through the SSV's hose, I run that right through my bong, so I'm taking bong rips of nothing but THC. guaranteed to sit you on your ass if you've never tried it.

The volcano is nice cause it pretty much takes all the thinking out of it for you.

Or you can do the cheap method my old roommate used. heat gun + hose and 'bowl' for bud + turkey bag. same concept, same high. just not quite as cool to bust out with your friends.

well to answer all those questions yes the volcano is the best vaporizer because i own one myself and yes it saves your bud and your wallet like crazy because it doesnt burn it up quick like other vaporizers ive seen do so basically the volcano pays for itself in the long run. it is by far the best for using medical marijuana ive been using mine for about 3 months now and i only have to buy my stash once a month saves me alot ill weight like .3 on the scale of some straight funk and it will last about 15 hits in the volcano if not more. which is about 3 or 4 bags.

What about the HerbalAire? I've heard some good things about it. Seems the only downside to it that I see is the external pump which isn't really a huge deal because it's not like I'd be bringing it around the world with me (not like I'm going anywhere lol) and the longer bag fill time seems a little less attractive too. But I guess those two aspects aren't such a big deal when it cuts the price in half.

Anybody use the HerbalAire?

I highly recommend the Vaporbrothers (vaporbrothers.com). I've owned mine for years and it's been wonderful. You only need the smallest pinch of herb each sitting.

just tried the vaporbrothers one a few weeks ago and went looking around town and they are all sold out! and i mean every head shop in town is sold out. they had the volcano and when i asked how much the guy says 550.00, f**K that i will say the vaporizers now are a lot better than the old ones with the dome on top i almost never tried a vaporizer again but a friend of mine insisted and brought it to my house to try lets just say I was blown away.

I heard of some people doing this and upgrading it to a faster pump, but how fast of a pump can it handle? Could I go up to 5000cc/min? 3500cc/min?

I got it within 3 days, I live in Ontario and I'm guessing you're in Canada too, so you could get it pretty quickly too. I've only used it with the manual whip so far but I think it's a great machine. You can use it as a bag vape too. There are others on here using the same machine that are very pleased with it as well. If you just want a whip vape the same guy sells a Digital V-Tower that's quite similar and made by the same company for less money.
